This is a StoryMap about my Anderson and Bostic ancestors. Both families originated in the Maryland/Delaware/Pennsylvania triangle pictured below.
They made their way out of enslavement in Delaware and Maryland to freedom in Pennsylvania. Both families then moved north – ending up in Worcester, MA. Here is their story (click the photo below)-
My uncle Tony told me the story of how Hattie and Walter met but I’m not sure I want to share it yet and if my uncle wants it to be shared. Maybe next time!

Hello Cheryl. Your cousin Carol here, Betty’s daughter. I believe we have a large photo of our ancestor Ophelia and a smaller one of Ophelia and another sister. I will be back on Martha’s Vineyard February. Let’s please connect and I will send you photos of the big one. Need to look for the smaller one. It is packed away and I remember a couple of post cards as well from them!
Hi Carol – That would be wonderful. There is a photo out there that some think is a photo of her sister Thirza but I’m not convinced. I hope that you are doing well!
